DENVER, Colorado — It is a weekend of the Denver Strip Clubs.
This is where they sell drinks, dance and sing their songs.
This Friday is also the end of their annual black eye party.
The black eye is a rite of passage for many in this city of 1.6 million people.
It is also a symbol of the dark side of the entertainment industry.
Black eyes are seen as symbols of trouble, but this year the Las Vegas strip clubs in Las Vegas and its surrounding area have seen a surge in cases of black eyes.
Dr. Gary Stokan, the director of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, said the black eye was a reminder of the darker side of Las Vegas, and he blames the casinos for making the problem worse.
“They’re trying to sell you a product that’s dangerous,” Stoka said.
Stokan has seen the black-eye parties increase in the last year.
There were 20 in 2016, and there are now over 50 this year, he said.
Black-eye night is a big event at strip clubs.
It starts at 10 p.m. and ends at 3 a.m., usually with a midnight show.
Stokas mother, who is the club’s owner, was a stripper when she started dancing there in the late 1980s, and she has seen a drop in the black eyes over the years.
Stoks mom said that when her daughter started dancing, she wanted to be part of it, and now she doesn’t even want to dance anymore.
“When she was a young girl, she said she loved the show.
But she never really liked being around it, even though it’s a part of her life,” Stokes mother said.
That is why Stokans son, Daniel, is the owner of the strip club, Black Eye.
He said he is happy with the increase in black eyes in the strip clubs but it isn’t as big a problem at the other clubs.
Stokes mom said she has been getting calls from people saying they have black eyes, and they are afraid to come in.
“I’ve been calling and I’ve gotten calls from girls and boys who say, ‘I’m going to go home because my mom has black eyes,'” Stokes mom explained.
She said her son is also afraid to let his son see her daughter.
“She’s not going to say anything.
She’s a grown woman.
She has no problem with that,” Stoks mom added.”
The black eyes are just a symbol that shows you what they do to women.
She sees it and she is angry.
She doesn’t want to be a part.”
But Stokes is not alone.
Black Eye, which is located in the Las Vega neighborhood, is also seeing a decline in cases.
Last year, there were 2,700 cases and in 2017 there were just 1,200.
Stokers mother said she is trying to educate her son about the dangers of the black market, which he sees in movies.
“We’re going to get them arrested, we’re going in jail, we are going to have to pay a fine,” Stoker said.
“It’s the black and white side of things, and I am a proud, American girl.
I want my daughter to be happy and safe.”
